I don't like to brag, but I must say it was quite an honor to win the Thayer award last year and then be Time's Person of the Year this year.

That's the joke around here since The American Soldier won both awards.

In other news that I haven't mentioned, for the second time in history West Point has a female First Captain. The old First Captain was relieved of duty right before winter break. I'd expect a big commotion amoung the corps about the whole thing, but everything is being kept very vague while he is under investigation. The cadet rumor mill hasn't churned out too many rumors on the subject, and nobody really talks about it, besides to say really good things about our new First Captain. So far it seems that everybody has a really high opinion of her.

The first sgt just sent out an email that came down from above saying that everyone is forbidden to excersise outdoors, along with no inspections or formations outdoors untill 1300 tomorrow afternoon when the temperature and windchill is supposed to be back up to zero degress. I guess it is pretty cold out, although I could figure that out just from walking to and from class.
